REIT SCHOOL MUNICH - Restaurant & Café in Haidhausen

Reitschule München - Today we were eating at the Café riding school, or as you know better - in the riding school. We have been there before or were invited and were not really that enthusiastic about the food. The meat was tough and the rest was acceptable - but not as expected by the reputation of this well-known locality. So we gave the Café Reitschule a new or second chance - for breakfast! ... and today we were (almost) not disappointed.

REIT SCHOOL MUNICH - Restaurant & Café in Haidhausen

We were first pleasantly surprised by the extensive menu, daily menu and separate vegetarian menu. We ordered our drinks - they were brought to us quickly. The cappuccino tasted very good, the coke light too. 🙂I ordered breakfast, my companion a Wienerschnitzel with fried potatoes and previously a celery soup. The soup was excellent. A plate of carrot and zucchini balls was brought and the soup was poured on the table in front of our eyes and sank the vegetables inside. She was incredibly fine and tasty. The Wiener schnitzel was delicious, the fried potatoes for nothing unfortunately - still half raw and therefore not edible. However, the criticism was taken by the waiter sovereign and it was apologized for it.

I myself ordered a breakfast - a roasted sesame bagel with cream cheese, rocket, onions and carps, which I could unsubscribe without any problems. The bagel came bundled with rocket salad garnished. "Assembling" had (for me "allowed") me my bagel itself - that is, the cream cheese was served as a separate portion on the plate and the salmon also separately in layers. It tasted very good, the salmon was fresh, the cream cheese tasted like cream cheese and the bagel was also excellent. My breakfast was a complete success or pleasure in this case. The Bircher muesli had a - at the beginning - very peculiar taste, or did not taste like you imagine a Bircher muesli. After a few spoons, I enjoyed it very much and I plastered the whole bowl.

REIT SCHOOL MUNICH - Restaurant & Café in Haidhausen

As for the inside of the riding school, the reaction is first "Oooooh!" And then "Najaaa". The building itself is very beautiful, very spacious and sumptuous. Great ceiling and ceiling lighting, very nice lounge area and nice, green-lit bar, but terribly ugly, black basic furniture - no fuss and total canteen style. The atmosphere is so mediocre, the breakfast was good, the fried potatoes bad. For breakfast I would come back, for more not at first.

Card payment is possible. 51 euros for 2 dishes with drink, although crisp, but it was now no total fall.

SHOP - Schwabing - international

 SHOP - Schwabing - international

Shop - The shop in the Türkenstraße is a very small restaurant or café, which was recommended here on my blog. We went there last weekend to have breakfast or lunch.

The cafe is very small, has about 13-15 relatively small tables and a longer table - with tree stumps as a chair - in the middle of the store, where we took a seat. We reserved in advance by phone and were originally placed at a very (!) Small table by the window, which I did not like, so we found room on the tree stumps. We actually had to drape our jackets on our lap, since tree stumps have no backs. Shortly before eating I discovered a small wardrobe in the back corner of the shop.

 SHOP - Schwabing - international

The menu itself is short but well mixed. (Excerpt see photo). On the positive side, there is a new menu every day - a new sheet of food is clamped in the clipboard - and a good mix is offered. We chose the spaghetti with scampi, scrambled eggs with goat's cheese on wholegrain bread and as a starter Salsify soup with - originally roasted hazelnuts, but they were out - so with roasted almonds.

The soup tasted excellent, came in a huge soup bowl and was very much. Very tasty, with many almonds scattered over it. We were after the soup - which I would recommend to share, should it be taken as a starter - quite crowded. (Soup was on daily changing card - so maybe not always to order). We were asked if we wanted to bread and got 4 slices of very delicious, fluffy bread with excellent crisp crust. The scampi spaghetti and the scrambled eggs with goat cheese were brought in parallel, promptly after eating the appetizer and were appetizingly prepared.

 SHOP - Schwabing - international

The scamps were according to my companion quote "exactly as scampi must be" with a bite and good consistency. The scrambled eggs were very powerful, But it tasted excellent with the enriched wholemeal bread with butter. The incorporated goat cheese was a perfect match for the delicious scrambled eggs. Both were a sufficient portion and made us - after the soup - paraphrase. (So my recommendation: try the scrambled eggs with goat cheese!) Are also without the cheese and with fresh tomatoes).

 SHOP - Schwabing - international

The most striking thing about the store is certainly the huge bar, which, for the size of the shop, runs right behind the long table mentioned above, with barstools, wooden counter and simple design - as is generally the case in the store: a white-beige wallpapered wall in the seating area , otherwise white walls, a red flower on the tables, sugar not in the usual way in the spreader but in the glass with teaspoons, tree stump chairs, clipboards as a menu and very simple, white dishes. What struck me directly - maybe only the dishwasher was broken - but when our empty plates were cleared it went directly into the sink for hand washing (!). Something unusual and for some, certainly not the fine English style of cleaning dishes.

 SHOP - Schwabing - international

Basically, I would go back to the store at any time, there was really nothing to complain about properly. The waiters - all young guys - are very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere in the store is nice and friendly. (My companion did not find it so comfortable - is certainly a matter of opinion). Card payment is possible at the store. We paid for the mentioned food including water, juice and cappuccino 29 euros including tips.

I'll be back: Yes, if I'm small, cozy, simple and yet delicious and sufficient to get full. Just sit nice and ratchet - no problem.

CAFÉ LUITPOLD - Old Town - Café

CAFÉ LUITPOLD - Old Town - Café

In advance, I booked a table on the same day in the morning on the website offered online reservation with subsequent confirmation email. As we entered the chic café that evening, we were directly asked by a nice lady behind the long dark wood bar that was completely enclosed, to ask if she could help us. By the time I said that I had reserved, another waiter came, asked me again for my name, and a third waiter rushed forward and then finally took over the matter and took us to a small cozy two-table. Extremely friendly and very hard-working.🙂

CAFÉ LUITPOLD - Old Town - Café

The restaurant or café is very cozy and convinces by its impressive design, the cozy atmosphere and the positive atmosphere. In the right area are the dark small dining tables, all including two tables, but which were pushed together as needed to a larger table for larger groups. The individual seating areas are visually separated again by black leather benches at the tables and give you the feeling of sitting in a small separate compartment instead of sitting in a large clairaudient room. Fondue stands on the tables (cheese fondue cheeses: Emmentaler, Comté and Beaufort cheese for € 21.50 / pp; meat fondue with broth meats: beef, turkey, pork and crêpes strips for 28) 50 € / ppCrime dinner in the Café Luitpold and red tealight holders with a burning candle.

Overall, the atmosphere in the Café Luitpold is very cozy, chic and pleasant. As soon as you enter, you'll notice the chic high stuccoed ceilings, the white whorls in the entire local area, the large cake and cake display cases, the backlit glass and the entire left side of the establishment, along elaborately curved shelves of cakes, pies, desserts and decorative elements. etc. as well as the around coherent concept true. In the café you can also buy various breads and rolls, biscuits, mini cakes, chocolates and much more at the expansive bar in the back area - so the cafe is definitely worth a visit for a sweet little sin.

CAFÉ LUITPOLD - Old Town - Café

At us were - as in the associated large and splendid event space with numerous other seating just a celebration played - zigfach trays with absolutely delicious and hearty tarts passed. We could look through the large windows that separate the actually café and the side area from each other some glimpses on the menus, desserts, prepared food and drinks of the guests - everything looked very delicious and was lovingly prepared, was served at the same time and seemed - the appearance of To feed the faces of the consumptive.

The café's menus are very extensive and offer something suitable for everyone. Vegetarian dishes are marked with a small drawn carrot next to the dish. In addition to the lunch, standard, breakfast, bar and wine menu, there are also regularly changing weekly and daily specials (from 13.80 - 18.50 euros), a soup of the day for 7.90 euros and various wine recommendations. There is lunch daily from 11 clock, the daily specials daily until 17 clock.

CAFÉ LUITPOLD - Old Town - Café

I chose a leaf salad with roasted Jerusalem artichoke, grapes and walnuts for 11.80 euros. My companion chose the pumpkin gnocchi in nut butter and rocket fig chutney for 12,90 Euro. The Gnocchiportion was relatively manageable, but very delicious in connection with the figs. For drinking we chose still water and Hugo (6,50 Euro for a Hugo, 5,60 Euro for the bottle of water - much too expensive! So rather drink directly alcohol, for not even a Euro more😉). Since the portions were relatively small - the salad was okay, but not really filling, we still order tarte with smoked salmon, dill and lime oil for 9.80 euros.

This was very good and fresh - so you can order with a clear conscience and is also priced for the size. The salad tasted delicious, above all I have never before eaten a salad with warm Jerusalem artichoke slices. (A root-like tuber in wafer-thin slices, as a "bed" under the salad.) I would definitely recommend this salad to you. The gnocchis do not necessarily when you are hungry, even if they were delicious.

Otherwise, there are various appetizers, main courses, meat and fish dishes (17,50-19,80 €, meat dishes to 27 €), different tarte flambée and desserts (from 2.60 to 4.90 euros, from small particles to apple strudel ) - of course there are particularly extensive offers listed, due to the confiserie located in the café. For example, pastries, cake pieces, cream cakes, cream desserts or strudel.

CAFÉ LUITPOLD - Old Town - Café

Café Luitpold has recently opened in the evening. Before that was not the case. You can now spoil yourself here Mo from 8-19 clock, Tuesdays - Saturdays from 8-23 clock and Sundays from 9-19 clock culinarily. Of course, tarts and cakes etc. can also be pre-ordered there in larger quantities, eg for celebrations and other occasions, and then freshly prepared to be picked up directly the next day.

Card payment is also possible at Café Luitpold. With tips I paid 59 euros. I gave a bit more tip, as the waiters were very friendly and eager, always quick at the table, but still in the background. I will definitely - even if it is not cheap priced - stop by for breakfast, just because of the ambience. If you want to try it, I would definitely book.

I'll be back :  Yes, definitely. Sometimes for breakfast or for a piece of cake.

THE VICTORIAN HOUSE - Viktualienmarkt - English

THE VICTORIAN HOUSE - Viktualienmarkt - English

The Victorian House on Viktualienmarkt is a cult and for all with Anglophilia, so to speak, the new living room. 🙂Victorian House is a restaurant specializing in English cuisine and renowned for an incredible variety of teas. The house opened in 2001 and since then has been one of the places to visit when looking for great interiors with precious antiques, sumptuous ambience and English food - something "special".

THE VICTORIAN HOUSE - Viktualienmarkt - English

So I was recently relatively spontaneous with my company there for breakfast. We called in advance by phone and were promised that a table will be kept for us until we arrive. When we walked in there were plenty of tables and we were placed by a young friendly waitress in the back of the big restaurant. The Victorian House convinces immediately after entering: with a small bar - on the numerous fresh cakes stood, with many splendid pictures, yellow walls, high stucco ceilings, heavy floral pattern curtains, in massive frames framed original oil paintings, hand-embroidered tapestry pillows on the benches dark furniture, terracotta floors and countless details that make you feel like you've traveled back in time to former England by stepping back in time. In the rear area - a somewhat secluded room - we liked it but not so good, as it was quite bleak and also smelled of kitchen.

We were allowed to sit in the front area immediately when we asked. Front - on the long greenish bench, right by the windows with huge, Chinese flower vases, we liked it better, the daylight flows through the window front into the restaurant, it looks bright and friendly. It quickly creates a cozy living room ambience in a noble style. I felt good, especially because we were served quickly and politely and fit in everything. Look at the best on the snapped pictures of the ambience and you will quickly understand why it is so cozy here. Although the tables are relatively close together, we still did not feel constrained or overheard.

THE VICTORIAN HOUSE - Viktualienmarkt - English

After we had studied the huge DIN A3 menus, the numerous different breakfasts and had finally decided we ordered the always attentive, yet reserved staff. We chose two different breakfasts. I decided after some consideration for the "Knightsbridge" for 9 €, consisting of three scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and diced tomatoes, to a bread basket and butter. My companion chose the "Chelsea" for € 13.40, which included a bowl of fruit salad, a glass of fresh orange juice (0.1l), a freshly baked croissant, a selection of breakfast wraps, jams, honey, nutella, butter and international cheeses Includes sausages.

For this we ordered a simple omelet "nature" for my companion (for 4,90 €). This would have it alternatively z. B. with bacon, onions, mushrooms or potatoes with bacon. With smoked salmon it would have cost € 8.20. For drinking I chose a coke light (2.90 €), my companion a cappuccino (2.80 €). Certainly one should actually drink tea in the restaurant "The Victorian House", as the selection of different teas as mentioned is unbeatable and many varieties are waiting to be tested by you - but I was more into cold. On the negative side, the served and on the menu as "fresh orange juice" advertised juice was definitely juice from the bag or bottle. Not so wild, as the breakfast was reasonably priced, but not what you expect. The served bread basket was very generous and the numerous small and beautiful soft bread rolls were perfectly adequate - or left a lot of it. The croissant was tender and fresh baked.

The teas are also available for those in a hurry to take away and convince by the fact that they release the flavor into the tea water exclusively in the sieve and not in typical tea bags. In addition to the breakfast, the Victorian House offers numerous delicious main courses (from 12 clock), such as risotto with peas, gorgonzola, peanuts, etc. for € 11.80; typical English Fish & Chips for 15,80 €; Steak and ale pie for € 16.50, pork tenderloin medallions; Sandwich with fried bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise and fries for 12,80 €. As appetizers are for example carrot-ginger soup, smoked salmon with potato rösti and herb cream, wild herb salad or Caesar Salad priced from 6 € to 11,90 € on the card.

The opening hours of the Vicotrian House are a bit complicated. Take a look right here . In fact, you can only reserve a table until 11:30 on weekends and public holidays. The restaurant serves (regular) daily from 09:30 to 21:00 breakfast (until 14:00), lunch (Monday to Friday business lunch (11:30 to 15:00) for an average of 7 €, reflecting this location perfectly fine), the typical traditional afternoon tea with "clotted cream from Cornwall" and also dinner. Card payment is possible. Parking is rather difficult as the restaurant is right on the Viktualienmarkt - very close to the Master's home . Public you can reach the restaurant best on the Isartor or the Marienplatz (all S-Bahn lines).

If you are still looking for a location for your celebration (from 30 people), such as birthday or wedding, you can also rent the Victorian House. Bone China, fine linen, crystal and silver cutlery are on offer. Of course, the menu will be put together according to your own wishes. We paid 37 € with tipping. For two breakfasts, an additional omelet and two drinks quite okay for Munich city center conditions. I would definitely recommend a visit to Victorian House. Certainly nothing for every day and from breakfast rather simple fare, or was for example at our breakfasts, nothing that you could not buy in a regular supermarket for breakfast at home, but still recommendable and very comfortable with convincing service and above all a unique ambience. In the evening, the tables are set white, the English flair grows a bit. Be sure to reserve if you wish to visit Victorian House at any time. I advise you to do that. BACKSPIELHAUS - Restaurant / Café Chain - Café

BACKSPIELHAUS - Restaurant / Café Chain - Café

The Backspielhaus is a breakfast restaurant in Munich - (zB) Bogenhausen, which also offers some simple lunch dishes and is available several times in Munich - three times in Schwabing, once in Schwabing-West, in the old town and in Nymphenburg. The Backspielhaus in Weltenburgerstraße is the headquarters and the largest backspielhaus. Here I was often with my companion, my family and friends at breakfast. I know the other branches almost all, but I would recommend you the Weltenburgerstraße at the first test of the Backspielhaus.

BACKSPIELHAUS - Restaurant / Café Chain - Café

The ambience is difficult to describe, the best you can see in my photos. Very long, open restaurant, with countless tables, individual eye-catching elements, such as huge dough machines, open view into the kitchen and baking area, huge bright bar, long cake and bread counter over the entire middle part of the restaurant, everywhere decorative elements and much to Look. (Look at this please s.besten the pictures to get an impression!) I was recently with my company at lunchtime during the week there for breakfast and we were one of only about 5-6 occupied tables.

It seemed comfortably relaxed, no high noise level and very friendly service. At the weekend it is definitely rather loud and always very crowded in the Backspielhaus. Through the open, spacious character and the many relatively tight tables it also seems too crowded and too loud. Nevertheless, I have always felt well and came back every time again. Only once, my escort and I were scolded by the Platzzuweiserin on the weekend because we - despite previous reservation - should be placed on a very small, draughty table.

BACKSPIELHAUS - Restaurant / Café Chain - Café

But we quickly hurried to a lady with a higher standing who gave us a cozy table with two huge white soft armchairs. because we should - despite previous reservation - at a very small, draughty table should be set. But we quickly hurried to a lady with a higher standing who gave us a cozy table with two huge white soft armchairs. because we should - despite previous reservation - at a very small, draughty table should be set. But we quickly hurried to a lady with a higher standing who gave us a cozy table with two huge white soft armchairs.

It is noticeable at the Backspielhaus that I was there three times and received a new menu three times. In the meantime, the Backspielhaus was once called "Seppls Zuckerbäckerei" and a laminated DIN A3 menu with many colored pictures and many high prizes was presented. Now, as I was there for breakfast this week, it was magazine-type, folded from thin and neon-colored paper A4 booklet with again more humane prices and "Backspielhaus" print. The menus of the Backspielhaus are mixed. Partly with information on the ingredients or the origin of the flour for the little cute doll's dishes, which are served in the basket for each breakfast. Positive: A small bag is served with each doll's bread roll basket

BACKSPIELHAUS - Restaurant / Café Chain - Café

We chose our food between the numerous breakfasts and individual main courses (as well as a few different burgers). Last week, for example, my companion chose the "Gickerle" breakfast with ham, cheese, scrambled eggs, a small Birchermüsli, jam, butter and countless Puppensemmeln. Was not made. Just like my very delicious incredibly huge rocket salad with Parmesan, pine nuts and cherry tomatoes. Very delicious, very fine and lovingly prepared.

The portion salad was for 9,50 euros absolutely fine and I would order anytime again. Also the breakfast of my companion for 12,50 Euro was priced okay, since really a lot of each individual was served and also enough Puppensemmeln served in a small basket mitserviert. For drinking we chose a coke light (0.2l) and a blackcurrant juice spritzer (0.4l) for a total of 7.50 euros, which is certainly not cheap, but in Munich almost usual. Together we paid with tipping 32 euros, which was fine in this way, because we were both extremely fed and vollgefuttert.

I definitely recommend you to try the Bircher muesli in the Backspielhaus. Although not cheap, it always tastes equally good and is unbeaten in comparison to many other Birchermüslis on breakfast cards. The hot chocolate is also delicious - just a bit too chocolaty and barely possible in connection with a sumptuous breakfast. New in the Backspielhaus are the already mentioned homemade burgers in different variations - but they have not been tried by me yet.

BACKSPIELHAUS - Restaurant / Café Chain - Café

The branch in Weltenburgerstraße is open from 06:30 to 18:00 and on Sundays and public holidays from 07:00 to 18:00. Card payment is possible in the backspielhaus. The restaurant is accessible by public transport only by a bus. Parking by car is in the associated parking no problem, only on weekends, the parking is recommended in one of the side streets. In terms of space, the Backspielhaus still offers a number of tables in a kind of conservatory (see photo) and comfortable seating in front of the stairway to the restaurant in the glass pavilion (see photo).

Definitely try it. Especially in the winter months great. If you have the opportunity to have breakfast there during the week, you will certainly have a more comfortable atmosphere than at the weekend. In any case, try a delicious cake or the (not cheap) cookies. You will not be disappointed. Keep in mind that there are many branches of the Backspielhaus in Munich and one of them is definitely close to you. The headquarters and the largest café is in Bogenhausen.

CAFÉ LOTTI - Maxvorstadt - Café

CAFÉ LOTTI - Maxvorstadt - Café

Café Lotti | Maxvorstadt - The Café Lotti is a small restaurant on the Schleißheimerstraße - not far from the Stiglmaierplatz in Munich and my workplace. That's why I'm always at the Café Lotti for lunch, such as lunch with my dear colleague. I was also having breakfast with my companion and family there. But in turn ...

Immediately after entering, you will feel at home in Café Lotti: pink painted walls with white-painted wooden beam walls over half the ceiling, white simple wooden furniture, a huge glittering chandelier above the tables, floral curtains on the windows and matching napkins on the tables Parquet floors in light brown throughout the premises, almost floor-to-ceiling light windows overlooking the street and benches right in front of the windows, plants in the corner, a gold-framed mirror on the wall, the menu on a blackboard on the walls and many more lovingly coordinated details that spread a very warm, cozy atmosphere.

CAFÉ LOTTI - Maxvorstadt - Café

You like to sit down, like to sit and feel a bit like home in the living room. In addition, two white armchairs with small round tables and coordinated floral cushions also support the cosiness and provide a feel-good atmosphere. On the tables stand on small cards in acrylic holders current offers for teas, cakes, etc .. Baby blue and light pink colored cushions on the benches and chairs and a white wooden shelf integrated into the wall with lovingly coordinated decorative elements complete the picture. Upon entering, the small - also kept white - counter, which also houses the cash register and the small cake rondel, catches the eye, above which another small chandelier with lots of bling bling is attached. Overall, a very round and harmonious design in the Café Lotti.

CAFÉ LOTTI - Maxvorstadt - Café

The Café Lotti does not offer many seats, although the tables are relatively close together, but the restaurant is not larger than about 30 square meters. Approximately Ten differently sized tables - 2 to 10 tables - are set up in the Café Lotti for a quick lunch, as well as a detailed - not quite cheap - breakfast. In summer there are also three to four small tables with small roses in vases on the table, floral napkins and green blankets on the chairs in front of the café. Even from the outside you can hardly go without a look through the large window front to throw inside in the cute cafe.

The menu is relatively manageable. Breakfast is available in the Lotti daily from 10 to 14 o'clock. Here are offered in terms of price and the extent of different breakfasts. For example, for 5.90 euros yogurt with fresh fruits and raspberry sauce, 1 pair of white sausages with pretzel and mustard for 6.80 euros, or for just under 10 euros the vegetarian breakfast with rolls, egg, butter, homemade jam and various cheeses and fruit , The "hungry Lotti" is available for a proud 30 euros. Just like the "Lotti in love". This I also ordered once - say once the hungry and once in love Lotti - at breakfast with four people.

CAFÉ LOTTI - Maxvorstadt - Café

For 60 euros, of course, you can expect pretty much everything a breakfast can offer. We were not disappointed, on the contrary, it was delicious, but overall still too expensive. For extra bread we had to pay and nothing was out of the ordinary: rolls, croissants, soft-boiled eggs, jam, butter, salami, ham, organic cheeses, smoked salmon, tomato mozzarella, fruit, 2 glasses of prosecco and two glasses of orange juice Breakfast hungry lotti and the like plus scrambled eggs, cereal with yogurt and raspberry juice at the in love Lotti.

You can see the breakfast in my photo. As I said: It was delicious, but not worth its money, or I would have expected a little more for a total of 85 euros - we still cappuccino and a coke light and water and then a cake. In addition, the waitress - at the same time the owner - something, yeah we say "distressed-irritated" came over, which in my opinion in such a small café, even if it runs well, can not be. I would not have to eat breakfast again - maybe again to try a smaller breakfast. Extras for breakfast can be ordered from 1 to 5.20 euros - from a roll to scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.

Lunch menus are available until 2pm and from Monday to Friday also 2 Euro discount on each dish. There are ham noodles, Putengeschnetzeltes, bread dumplings (home-made), spinach dumplings, cheese noodles, a large salad with bread dumplings and another salad. The main courses cost every eight or nine euros still something. As a snack, there are still homemade pancakes depending on the side dish from 4.50 euros to 7.20 euros or even Reiberdatschi or rolls with various toppings. There is also a weekly changing soup. I have already eaten the Kässpatzen twice - very delicious and from the portion also in order. Not typical Bavarian sparrows, rather elongated spaetzle, which is otherwise served with gravy and meat, but still very delicious, served in very simple, white dishes.

Today the service was a bit rough. Although all tables were occupied at lunchtime and the lady stressed out, the menu "throw in" does not have to be. The order and payment was then a bit friendlier. I drank a delicious Chai Tea with vanilla flavor, my colleague ate the Kässpatzen and drank a juice spritzer - we paid with tips 15 euros. Surely I would come back for lunch or even for a simple breakfast, since the very nice ambience is predominant and the food tasted good. Cheap it is not and around noon around it is also quite loud - many moms with kids.

CAFÉ LOTTI - Maxvorstadt - Café

I would definitely recommend you to try the Café Lotti and if it's just for a coffee or a quick snack - you certainly will not go wrong. Maybe not directly at lunchtime. Card payment is possible at Café Lotti. Try it and tell me about your opinion. Public brings you the subway line 1 (Stiglmaierplatz) there. Have fun.

I'll be back: Yes. Even if the service a bit brisk and the food is a bit expensive.

HUNGRY HEART - Isarvorstadt - international

HUNGRY HEART - Isarvorstadt - international

Hungry Heart - The restaurant "Hungry Heart" was tested last weekend. Unfortunately it was not really a great experience for the first visit. But it must also be said that we once more for breakfast and were very satisfied. On the first visit, it started with the fact that - despite reference to the website - it was not possible to reserve by phone. After about four to five callers an answering machine jumps on, which does not look particularly thoughtful for a restaurant, which generally accepts reservations by phone.

So we went on good luck - the "Hungry Heart" is located directly on the U-Bahn Fraunhoferstraße - and also got a small two-table. The first impression of the restaurant is nice and friendly with about 15 tables in different sizes with chairs, or partial long benches, cozy sitting areas on the windowsills, large long wooden tables for comfortable sitting and wine shelves on the walls. We took a seat on a cushioned, large windowsill and got relatively quickly - by a friendly service - the menus were enough.

The menu is relatively short and very well laid out and simple in appetizers, main dishes and desserts and is limited to the breakfast menu on one side, which I liked in principle. (For example, Kässpatzen, vegetable quiche - which both were also ordered from us-, Penne with cattle strips, salads, soups, etc.) On the map was also Fritz-kola lemonade in various varieties, unfortunately there were two varieties, which we ordered I did not want anymore, which I do not see as beneficial for a relatively new, small and manageable shop. On the walls also hang plates with Buisness dishes for lunch and two to three additional changing dishes, which are not found on the standard map.

Well ... the food came in a relatively short time, was brought by one of the numerous, friendly service and looked "decent", but not totally "for a bite". The Kässpatzen tasted - after the after-salting - quite well and just as Kässpatzen is basically imagined. The vegetable quiche was not really something for the eye and as I had to say also no real culinary delight. Unfortunately, in addition to the quiche, a salad bouquet was draped, which sank in the dressing and my entire quiche durchsiffte from below. Say my food was rather a bunch of vegetables with soggy pieces of dough. The vegetables themselves were ok, but also had a somewhat dull and strange taste. Although I ate it up with repeated salting, but annoyed me in retrospect to have spent 8 ¬.

In addition, unfortunately, also negative note, that the waitress during the consumption of the dishes with us at the table appeared and asked us to be able to cash, as her shift change would be. Of course, I've seen it several times in localities, but also testifies - we had just begun to eat - not of real hospitality and tore us from our talks and stopped the meal.

During another visit at the weekend with my companion we decided to have breakfast in the Hungry Heart and give the restaurant a second chance. We once ordered the "Allgäu Heart - Breakfast" (for € 8.90) and once the "Fittes Heart Breakfast" for € 8.50, accompanied by two delicious latte macchiato for € 3.40 each, a Cola Light for 3 , 60 € (0.4l) and a cappuccino for 2.90 €. At the two breakfasts there was nothing to complain about, both were adequate and delicious, nicely prepared and filling.

All in all, you can sit nice in the hungry heart, ratchet and spend some nice hours - main courses I will not order there first time, you can have breakfast here in any case without problems. The ambiance and the service are also right.
